*WOW, what a great concert last week!!! The students did a phenomenal job and congratulations to all! :)
*Ms. Pettee's phone has changed! The new number is
937-8500 X 7514.
*IMPORTANT: There was a mistake on the morning rehearsal schedules. There IS rehearsal on Thursday, May 1. That was left off the schedule by accident. The last day for East Side rehearsal is Wednesday, May 14. The last day for West Side rehearsal is Thursday, May 15.
*At the last rehearsal, information was passed out about tuners and shoulder rests. If your student is continuing on in 6th grade, they will need to get a tuner. We will be learning how to tune in May. Also, violin and viola students will need to get a shoulder rest. For more information, click on the bottom link on the left side If you have any questions, please let me know. :)
*It is also that time of year to start thinking about private lesons! I highly encourage these and your student will get more one on one attention. There is a list of teachers in the students' binder. If you need assistance, do not hesitate to contact me!
*Please make sure the students attend ALL before school practices for the remainder of the year. It is extremely important to attend all rehearsals and we cover things there that are not covered in lessons.
*If you are looking for local orchestra concerts to attend, check out the concerts link on the left side for more information! A GREAT concert to go see is BARRAGE (who are one of Ms. Pettee's favorite groups) and they are at Fermilab on Saturday, April 19. They put on a great show and the tickets are reasonable. :) Check out their website for more about the group: www.barrage.org
*Students should be practicing at home and filling out those practice records. They need to have them signed and filled out EVERY week. They should be turned in at the end of every month! Practicing is a major part of the students' grade.*
