Bake Sale:  Today is the 2nd Annual Orchestra Charity MEGA Bake Sale!!!
Bring your money and get a treat.  Let’s celebrate together while helping others with your support.

7th Grade Boys:  If you are planning to attend football summer camp and have not picked up your football equipment you must do so before you leave school for the summer.  Remember sign up at the Park District before getting your equipment.  See Mr. Canfield if you still need football summer camp equipment.

8th grade football players (Incoming Freshman Football Players):  Reminder to register at the park district in order to receive equipment May 29th.  Pick-up is at the high school after school on Thursday, May 29.  You must be registered and have a receipt of payment to get equipment.

Raffle:  Are you looking for something to do this summer?  Team 6-6 will be raffling off a summer fun basket during lunch periods on Thursday and Friday.  All money raised will go to a RMS family that needs our help.  Check out the basket Wednesday during lunch.  Tickets will be $1 or 6 for $5.

LMC:  All library books and materials are due today in the LMC!!!!!!!

Cross Country:  Attention 6th & 7th graders interested in running Cross Country next rall.  There will be an informational meeting tomorrow after school in Mrs. Hillman’s Room #005.  If you are unable to attend but would still like to be on the Team, just stop by Coach Meeks (room 012) or Coach Hillman’s Room and pick up the information packet.

Yearbook:  Meets today in Ms. Campanelli’s room from 3-3:45.  Sorting yearbooks!!!!

6th Grade Band:  Congratulations on a Terrific Concert last night!  Remember lessons continue today.

Relay for Life Fundraiser:  Tuesday and Wednesday this week during lunch you have the chance to buy a raffle ticket to win sweet prizes!  Tickets cost $1 and ALL proceeds go to Relay for Life.  Chorus students you will get a sneak preview tonight.  Bring cast to make a difference.

Medieval Faire:  Tuesday, May 20th from 6:30 to 8:00.

All current and interested members are encouraged to attend with their parents at 1:00 pm this Sunday.

For all current 8th graders interested in the high school level of Batavia Robotics. We will have a meeting on Sunday May 18 in the multi-purpose room at 3:30 pm to discuss the summer workshops and the fall program. All current and interested members are encouraged to attend with their parents at 3:30 pm this Sunday for high school level robotics.

Congratulations 7th Grade Girls Track Team!!!!!!!!!

They placed First!!!!!! Numero Uno!!! At the Two Rivers Conference Meet on Monday.  They competed against 11 other schools.  Way to go Lady Bulldogs!!!!!!!!

Tennis Club:  Last club meeting today with a short tournament and a celebration.  Today’s meeting includes all participants.

7th & 8th Graders:  Jumpstart your day on Thursday with badminton.  Bring a team mate or an opponent!!  Meet in the wood gym.

Student Council:  A big congratulations shout to all student council members attending the field trip yesterday.  We packed 44 cases of food that will be sent to starving children around the world.  Our Efforts there yesterday packaged over 9500 meals.  Way to to!!!!!!!!!

Student Council:  Permission slip for Monday’s upcoming field trip is to be returned no later than Friday, May 9th.   Turn in to advisory teacher, Mrs. Oswald, or Mrs. Connell.  Members that don’t eat lunch before 11:30 need to bring a sack lunch.  Meet in the lobby by the trophy cases. 

Ecology Club:  Pop-tab bracelet sale tomorrow during lunch…$1.00 each.

6th grade play:  Anyone involved with the 6th grade play, Pecos Bill, has rehearsal next week Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 3:00 till 6:00.    Cast members only have rehearsal this Saturday from 10 till 2!!!!!

All Band & Orchestra Students:  Today is the deadline for the Street Musicians program with the discounted fee.  Don’t forget to drop off your registration today.  This summer is our 10th Anniversary Season for the Street Musicians!!  Join in the fun and awesome raffle drawings that we’ll be having at the concerts on Thursdays in July.

Congratulations:   7th grader Joey Shump won the Greco Roman Wrestling State Championship. He now becomes a member of Team Illinois, which competes against other states in tournaments.

Tennis Club:  6th grade tennis cl;ub will meet at Big Woods Courts.  We will meet today and next Tuesday will be our last meeting. 

Congratulations to two of our robotics team - the Caffeinated Squirrels and Team Happy Face. This last weekend they traveled to Minneapolis for the FLL International Robotics Open. For two days they competed against 60 other teams from around the world in judging categories and robot performance.

Team Happy Face received an honorable mention for their alternative use of energy.
The Caffeinated Squirrels received an honorable mention for their research project on energy.
Team Happy Face received the top programming award for their computer programming skills.

Congratulations:  6th graders Nick Majka, Matt Kazlauski, Samantha Spengler and Dylan Woodrich.   Winner in the Illinois Department of Commerce Coal Essay Contest.  They each received a $50 savings bond!!!!

Bullying  Posters:  Thanks to everyone who participated in the Bulldogs don’t bully poster contest.  All of the entries were well done and sent a great message:”RMS students don’t bully”.  If you want your poster back, you can pick it up in Mrs. Carey’s roo m #008.

Tennis Club:  7th & 8th grade tennis may meet today.  We will be looking at the weather.  If rain, we will cancel.  Announcement will be made after lunch.

Full Moon Friday:  Come to downtown Batavia on Friday night between 5pm and 9pm to learn how you can make our City a little greener.  There will be green sites at 12 downtown Batavia locations for you and your family to explore.  There will be sidewalk chalk, food samples, demonstrations, and so much more.  Batavia Creamery will have $1 scoops!!!  Maps are available at 2 E. Wilson or www.downtownbatavia.com.

RMS 8th grade football next fall:  Any 7th grader interested in playing football next fall for RMS should go to an informational meeting this Wednesday, April 23rd, during the second half (11:10am) in the Drafting Room (#013).

Gymnastics:  Interested in joining gymnastics at BHS???  The High School coach and players will be here tomorrow to talk to those interested!!  Meet in the LMC at 11:45.

6th Grade Tennis:  Will meet after school on Monday and Tuesday next week.

Jumpstart Your Day!!!  6th graders on Tuesdays, 7th graders on Wednesdays, and 8th graders on Thursdays…..come in before school for some physical activity.  We’ll be doing badminton and other fun activities.  Sign up in student services!!

Bulldogs Don’t Bully Week:  Show your support for people from all over the world.  On Tuesday, dress to represent a country that will be participating in the Olympics.  You can wear a tee-shirt with the name of the country or wear the colors of the flag!!

6th & 7th graders:  Intramural Kickball has started.  It is Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Meet outside the pavilion on the west side of the building.  Any questions see Mr. O’Reilly.

8th grade boys (freshman football):    Interested in playing football at BHS???  There will be an informational meeting on April 23 in the drafting room during the second half of your lunch hour.  All are welcome and no prior experience is required to play freshman football.
